    As an Underwriting Specialist, you’ll be the mastermind behind evaluating and servicing increasingly complex accounts. You’ll be a key contributor to national standards for data quality and service level agreements, ensuring their reputation as a leading commercial insurance provider stays top-notch.

    Underwriting Duties:

    Craft renewal rates and exposure guidelines like a pro.

    Select and negotiate proper rates for risks, ensuring a profitable book of business within their guidelines.

    Solve complex problems with a broad perspective and recommend best practices.

    Dive into endorsements, renewals, and cancellations, ensuring they meet their high standards.

    Sales Charm:

    Build and maintain relationships with brokers and customers, contributing to quality service and risk selection.

    Collaborate on business retention and customer satisfaction through regular interactions.

    Investigate risk factors, gaining support and agreement for their corporate pricing approach.

    Coaching and Operational Leadership Charisma:

    Share your expertise with less experienced underwriters, offering mentorship and training.

    Provide valuable input on various underwriting, strategic, and staffing issues.

    Assist in developing underwriting guidelines and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    Post-secondary education or equivalent on-the-job experience.

    CIP and/or FCIP designation.

    8 years of experience in the property and casualty industry.

    Fluent in the language of company underwriting philosophy, policy contracts, and rating programs.

    Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office skills and a knack for email and internet wizardry.

    Bonus points if you’re fluently bilingual (English/French) – it’s a definite asset in their Quebec Region.
