The trading desk manages equity and fixed income order flow and information for the Americas regions for both domestic and international portfolio managers. The desk trades equity, fixed income and equity, fixed income linked products including derivatives futures and ETFs. The trading desk is responsible for actively covering fund managers with value-added market insight to assist them in portfolio positioning and management.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Trade Management Services Analyst to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director Investment Operations, the Analyst will support the post trade execution and settlement process and contribute to the efficient operation of the trading desk. They will work closely with traders, portfolio services and trade operations to handle all aspects of the post trade lifecycle in a multi-asset capacity. This includes trade capture, confirmation, pre-settlement matching, fails management, collateral management and the resolution of cash and stock reconciliations.
What You Will Do
The Trade Management Services Analyst will work closely with local and international business operations teams to understand and implement best practices which add new value to the investment and trading process. The Analyst will build and maintain relationships with other key partners including investment operations, compliance, and investment risk. The Analyst will also participate in ad-hoc projects that pertains to the Investment Operations team.
- Performing daily tasks to ensure trades are:
- Captured in accordance with internal timelines
- Confirmed on Trade date
- Communicated to the Custodian via SWIFT
- Pre-Matched in accordance with market deadlines
- Ensure all failed trades are captured and investigated
- Investigate cash and stock breaks and resolve in a timely manner
- Collaborate closely with Brokers, Custodians and Trading desks to resolve day to day processing issues
- Collateral management – Action any escrow or de-escrow requests from trading operations
- Data Management – Work with relevant internal teams for timely set up of new securities on internal systems
- Perform system testing as and when required
- Apply and continue to develop knowledge of multi-asset trading, market structure and market challenges
- Contribute to team strategy
- Provide input to the Head Trader to analyze and improve the trading process regarding best execution and efficient operations
- Proactively engage with broker relationships and market participants
- Protect and where possible enhance Fidelity’s reputation in the marketplace
- Work effectively and professionally with local and international business partners
- Work such hours as required to support trading operations
- Be familiar with and adhere to Fidelity Global Trading Policies and Procedures
- Be familiar with and adhere to the provisions of Fidelity’s Code of Ethics
What We’re Looking for:
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a post trade operations role
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the investment industry, ideally supporting investment operations and trading
- University degree or equivalent working experience
