    The Opportunity:

    We’re looking for a Supervisor, Settlement Services to join our Operations team.

    Your role will be required to regularly perform essential duties on behalf of the company from your assigned Aviso office. Your role is considered medium flexibility, requiring you to work onsite 1-3 days per week at our office at 151 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON.

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations, the Supervisor, Settlement Services is responsible for overseeing the functions of the Settlement Services team. The team’s responsibilities include the processing and settlement of equity, fixed income & equity option trades and completing trade corrections, adhering to regulatory standards and internal standards to meet necessary deadlines and using reasonable judgement to resolving problems in their daily tasks. The Supervisor will also oversee the payment processing team, approving wire payments and EFT file transmissions.

    What your day looks like:

    • Supervise and coordinate all activities of the team to ensure timely and accurate processing
    • Review and resolve all escalated issues (including rejected trades/transactions) in a timely manner, ensuring customer service levels are maintained within the team to service our partners
    • Provide training and ongoing support to team members
    • Provide effective and ongoing performance feedback to team members
    • Set goals for team members and provide guidance on continuing development
    • Monitor daily processing requirements and assess team workload, to handle changes in volumes
    • Review daily & monthly reconciliations for completeness and accuracy, communicating with internal teams/departments
    • Support external and internal partners using the most efficient processing methods, and recommend solutions for timely and accurate issue resolution
    • Daily collateral review and cash forecasting for operation requirements
    • Support regulatory reporting and maintain current knowledge of industry regulations
    • Participate in industry calls and related projects, as required

    Requirements

    Your experience and skills:

    • Post-secondary education or professional development in a related field is an asset
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Financial Services firm
    • Previous supervisory experience is an asset
    • Dataphile, Fundserv, and Capital Markets experience is an asset
    • Ability to work independently to achieve required objectives, within company and regulatory requirements
    • A creative and adaptable approach to solving problems
    • Self-motivated and results driven
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Proven ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Strong organizational, time management and administrative skills
    • Proven decision-making, prioritizing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of management and staff
    • Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office Knowledge
    • Working knowledge of SQL and VBA is an asset
    • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
