We are seeking to add a Sr Analyst Global Trade & Customs Compliance to play an integral role in our Global Fulfillment Organization! This role is responsible for implementing and coordinating import and export compliance programs by applying technical expertise, oversight and operational support for customs counterparts located in the Americas and Canada. This role will serve as the lead person for questions and issue resolution associated with brokerage operations for the North America region, applying specialized knowledge to solve a wide range of issues. This person runs reports, manages import processes, analyzes information, and makes recommendations based on the findings to improve processes and performance metrics while also maintaining a high level of accuracy associated with trade compliance regulations.
A day in the life of a Sr Analyst Global Trade & Customs Compliance:
- Participate on cross-functional committees involving trade compliance matters, some of which will include members of the Compliance/ Legal, Logistics, Global Security, and Internal Audit departments. Provide insights and support for any government audits or inquiries associated with their area of responsibility.
- Manage the relationship and performance of North America customs brokers; Identify and resolve issues hindering customs clearance, including exams and CPSC, FDA, and other customs holds.
- Monitor and evaluate global customs broker performance through Key Performance Metrics while participating in quarterly reviews with Hasbro representatives and contracted customs brokers.
- Introduces fresh ideas and creative solutions regarding concepts that will help Global Sourcing evaluate trade compliance cost reduction opportunities to lower the total landed cost of goods.
- Manage the Country-of-Origin policies and procedures for determination as well as product marking and labelling requirements; provide ongoing advisement and training to cross-function counterparts.
- Manage denied party screening process and ensures compliance with US Export regulations associated with any identified risks; Partner with Hasbro Legal Department for support on additional compliance/due-diligence checks.
- Automate global trade performance metrics and record-keeping systems including, among others, those utilized in connection with licensing, screening, and anti-boycott reporting.
- Attend trade compliance training programs and appropriately identify, prioritize, and resolve any practices which reduce risk or enhance the efficient flow of goods.
- Participate in due diligence reviews of trade compliance matters regarding potential product development or new sourcing activities and initiatives and provide proper tariff classification of all products as well as guidance on use of materials regulated by OGA’s.
- Monitor and evaluate customs broker performance using KPI’s and participate in quarterly reviews with Hasbro representatives and North America contracted customs brokers; Seek out opportunities to improve reporting, visibility, and accuracy.
- Actively contribute to the development of global trade compliance initiatives identified in support of trade facilitation and regulatory compliance.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain, International business, or associated discipline.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- 2-4 years of experience in trade compliance and/or international logistics.
- Knowledge and understanding of global trade laws and regulations including those administered by CBP or similar regulatory agency requirements applicable to trade in international geographies.
- Ability to properly interpret and strategically apply government regulations and related technical requirements to global business and trade scenarios.
- A highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational and project management skills and proven problem solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and demonstrated expertise in a direct and matrix environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic global team environment with minimal supervision and to recognize the need for and effectively solicit input from relevant stakeholders while managing multiple projects and their deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to clearly convey relevant information to a broad spectrum of global audiences.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills that support root cause analysis and resolution.
- Cultural awareness that facilitates effective working relationships at all organizational levels.
- Ability to acquire new skills and conduct research independently.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Competency in other Microsoft Office applications.
