    About the role

    The Senior Underwriting technician provides technical support to the underwriting team in processing insurance renewal, new business, and other tasks described below.

    What you need to know:

    • Partner with regional underwriters for end-to-end processing of new and renewal business.
    • Provide seamless high quality underwriting support functions
    • Prepare quotes and binders for underwriters
    • Code premium, issuance of policies and endorsements
    • Complete virtual checklists
    • Communication / Follow-up with brokers / Reinsurers
    • Create and Issue manual policies if necessary
    • Update various reports
    • Ensure files are well documented and comply with corporate standards
    • Verify premiums computation for month end, Update different reports
    • Resolve accounting inquiries, month end verification in liaison with center of excellence.
    • Assist claims department with requests on file documentation.
    • Assist the underwriter by starting the Pricing Core enter all administrative information and populate loss information.
    • Create initial request in re-insurance platform by entering admin info for underwriter to review.
    • Renewal Prep
    • Email renewal letter to the broker
    • Create renewal file in iSuite and shared drive
    • Prepare Loss Runs and various reports
    • Upload all the documents to iSuite

    What we’re looking for:

    • College and/or University degree an asset
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills, detail-oriented
    • High organizational and time management skills, effectively manage work volume and tight deadlines
    • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
    • Strong knowledge of systems and PC applications (Windows, Outlook, MSWord, Excel and database administration)
    • Fluency in both English and French is considered an asset
