Role Summary
External broker and client facing role managing an assigned portfolio of Tier 1 Multinational programs working in partnership with product underwriters and distribution. Subject matter expert in the structure, design and execution of complex Multinational captive fronting and indemnity programs. This role has global fronting authority and supports all major Multinational lines of business.
About the role
What you need to know:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the multinational service delivery for the assigned portfolio and be accountable for the multinational client experience. This would include:
- The proactive management and oversight of all multinational service activities, coordinating communication and project management across all internal and external stakeholders throughout the program lifecycle.
- Provide direction and guidance to all relevant stakeholders across Multinational Business Model and AIG Network to ensure appropriate design and effective delivery and service of assigned multinational programs.
- Provide multinational technical expertise to underwriters to ensure a compliant program structure and design, and adherence to all local regulatory requirements.
- Lead the promotion and adoption of the AIG Multinational End-to-End process, so that all parties understand and commit to roles, responsibilities and expected timelines, to provide an elevated service performance and deliver contract certainty.
- Ensure Multinational service fee discipline by utilizing available tools.
- Lead and manage the day-to-day service delivery across all assigned programs to ensure the timely issuance of accurate local policy and invoice documentation and meet agreed program Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Partner with Product Underwriters to manage the approval of facultative reinsurance panel participants and the collection of compliant reinsurance documentation for all assigned programs.
- Engage with multinational claims to ensure timely development of multinational claims bulletins / protocols and support on ad hoc program enquiries.
- Partner with underwriting to draft legal documentation for loss sensitive programs and obtain approval from AIG legal counsel.
- Monitor performance and escalate where necessary to ensure all agreed Multinational service SLAs are being met.
- Operate as the senior external service contact and – working in collaboration with Product Underwriters and Distribution – provide regular updates to the appointed broker (or client if direct) on program performance until fully implemented.
- Manage and partner with Distribution to coordinate periodic client/program stewardship meetings to be conducted in alignment and collaboration with underwriting and distribution.
- Manage and be accountable for all compliance elements of assigned portfolio of global fronting programs as documented within the Multinational Global Fronting Underwriting guidelines and per the dual signature model. This would include:
- Accurate and timely submission of credit application and all associated program information required to complete credit analysis and obtain approval.
- Engagement with underwriting and AIG legal to ensure compliant reinsurance documentation is in-force, fully executed and held on file.
- Completion of Risk Transfer Validations (RTVs) and binding status in Credit Risk Database (CRDB).
- Work in partnership with credit and collateral management group to ensure the timely collection of all required security and collateral per agreed credit terms.
- Accountable for the coordination and completion of all High Limit Referrals and continuing engagement with MN Chief Underwriting Office (CUO) if clarifications required for granting of approval.
- Engagement with AIG’s reinsurance division/stakeholders to ensure monitoring of losses and the collection of any additional security or collateral as required by credit and per the terms of the in-force captive reinsurance agreement.
- Monitoring of exposure on assigned portfolio to ensure the proactive engagement with relevant stakeholders and the collection of compliant security to mitigate year-end statutory penalties, per MN CUO guidelines.
- Manage and oversee cash-flow to captives, working with collections and reinsurance division to ensure agreed SLAs are being met.
- Completion of Peer Reviews for assigned portfolio.
- General:
- Drive the profitable growth of the Multinational global fronting portfolio by working with product and distribution to identify target opportunities and articulate AIG’s value proposition in the market.
- Accountable for contributing to the development, qualification, prospecting and conversion of Multinational and Global Fronting Targets within assigned span of control.
- Provide multinational subject matter expertise and be an escalation point to support colleagues in respect of multinational program design, territorial information and multinational related problem solving as required.
- Help identify, support, and contribute to internal and external strategies that align our product offerings and grow AIG multinational business.
- Represent AIG at external market events and provide broader support to multinational growth strategies, business development, thought leadership and training as appropriate.
What we’re looking for:
- Commercial insurance experience, preferably client servicing (broker or company background)
- Strong technical knowledge of complex multinational programs, including reinsurance structures, with experience of the multinational environment and processes
- Client focused with experience working with multinational corporations and dealing with senior client personnel / risk managers
- Experience handling the structuring and execution of global fronting programs including captive and indemnity arrangements
- Strong written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated and ability to work autonomously and on own initiative
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, delegate effectively and meet tight deadlines / SLAs
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas and influence outcomes
- Ability to motivate others to achieve common goal; proven record of being a team player
- Collaborative with the ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Commercial acumen with strong business development and negotiation skills
- Computer literacy required: IT packages, MS Outlook, Excel, Word
