    We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing Communications to lead the creation and delivery of audience-friendly content and copy to support marketing and customer communication requirements, with particular focus on both commercial and personal insurance products. This individual will manage and lead all aspects of all content and copy development to ensure communications are clearly articulated and that messaging is simple, clear and easy to understand by customers and insurance brokers.

    What you’ll do:

    Team Leadership

    Lead a team of three full-time Marketing Communications specialists, and various contract writers, spanning customer and broker communications. Guide and mentor an impactful team to ensure they are supported in their growth. Review and provide feedback on materials as necessary. Handle project triage to ensure the appropriate allocation of work and that items are delivered on time.

    Contribute to the writing of customer and broker facing communications

    Writing and editing copy to clean up highly technical and legal language and bringing a tone that is appropriate for the document and its place in the customer life cycle/experience.

    Ensuring that the language and look are appropriate and consistent throughout the customer or broker life cycle and reflect the Aviva brand.

    Proactively identify areas for improving written customer and broker communications.

    Ensure that broker materials deliver a story that is impactful and coordinated effectively into the broker sales cycle to make it easier for insurance brokers to sell Aviva products to their customers.

    Willingness and ability to push for more audience-focused language and information portrayal within all communications.

    Bring the customer experience to the forefront of everything we do by being the voice of the customer and ensure that they are represented in the conversation.

    Handling collaborators, including Marketing Leads, Business Leads, Underwriters, Brokers, Subject Matter Experts, Translation, and Designers. Ensure all requirements are gathered and approvals are completed/acquired for all projects.

    Problem solve business requirements, timelines, and contending priorities while appropriately considering risk and controls.

    What you’ll bring:

    Minimum 7 years marketing communications writing, spanning various channels including social, web, collateral, brochures, video and email.

    Experience writing for various B2C, B2B, and B2B2C audiences, from advertising copy to technical marketing/sales materials.

    Minimum 5 years people management (of writers or marketing communications individuals), including editing experience.

    Experience within insurance or financial services is an asset

    Expert command of written English.

    Skilled in managing tenured, hard-working marketing communications teams.

    Expertise in crafting simple, digestible communications from often technical and legal-heavy information.
