Job description: Our client is seeking an experienced Farm Underwriter to join their team in Vancouver! The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years’ underwriting experience and prior underwriting exposure in farm and agribusiness.
Location: Vancouver, BC
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assess, accept, and decline new business submissions
- Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability in order to grow a recurring book of business
- Promote and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external partners
- Participate in industry events, broker meetings and site visits
- Mentor and train less experienced underwriters
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial Lines/Farm underwriting
- Completed, or pursuing your CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations
- Strong underwriting acumen, effective communication, and negotiation skills
- Team player who can perform well and calm under pressure
