Job description: The Client:

The client is a leading Mutual Insurance Company seeking a Senior Commercial Underwriter to join their team in Waterloo, Ontario.

What you will achieve in this role:

• Underwrite new business, renewals and endorsements according to established underwriting guidelines.
• Establish appropriate solutions for challenging underwriting problems.
• Create and maintain positive broker relationships, as well as broker visits.
• Pricing complex commercial risks using sound judgement.
• Respond to broker requests in a punctual matter.
• Mentor and guide junior underwriters.

What you must bring to this role:

• 3+ years of property & casualty insurance experience.
• Post secondary education or University degree in business & partial completion of CIP.
• FCIP & CRM are considered an asset.
• Nice to have: Exposure to agriculture business.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills
