Position Details
What You Will Do
The Senior Claims Examiner – Special Programs is responsible for oversight and handling of management and oversight of specific claims programs. Programs are specific to key Managing General Agents (MGA). The role will entail front line interaction with the claims staff of the MGA and will work with the MGA to set parameters for claims handling and oversight of the claims process. In addition, the successful candidate will manage larger more complex claims and coverage positions
- Provide oversight of external adjusters on outsourced claims
- Investigate, evaluate, negotiate personal/commercial lines claims of moderate to high complexity
- Manage claims in litigation, participate in mediations, pre-trials and settlement conferences
- Collaborate with the MGA to ensure that claims process is aligned with MGA expectations
Who You Are
- Minimum 7 years’ claims handing or direct related experience
- University degree or college diploma is preferred
- CIP designation or working towards is an asset
- Strong organizational; decision making and problem-solving skillset
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment; prioritize and multi-task
