    Mortgage Specialist, High Value Broker Relations

    Toronto, ON

    Salary Range: $52,000 – $65,000 yr.

    CMLS Financial is looking for a Mortgage Specialist, High Value Broker Relations to join our growing team.

    The Mortgage Specialist, High Value Broker Relations will be a subject matter expert on CMLS policy, procedure and processes, and provide support and guidance to our high value brokers and Regional Managers. The Specialist will assess and analyze the performance of Internals Sales & Renewal representatives phone interactions. They will also review existing client’s mortgage applications for covenant change and assumptions requests to determine risk level and make decisions on approvals or declines. The Specialist is required to act in a timely manner and follow all guidelines set out internally. This position requires that all customers and brokers be contacted by telephone or email and conversation are fully documented to our system of record.

    Normal hours of operation are from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm EST, however, you must be able to exercise flexibility with working hours and can be asked to work later hours when necessary.

    About the Role

    • Handle inbound and outbound calls or email correspondence for our High Value Brokers and Regional Managers by providing guidance and or information for them to assist our existing mortgage customers
    • Maintain and build positive customer experiences by providing exceptional customer service
    • Adhere to verification processes to ensure protection of private information
    • Maintain a thorough knowledge of mortgage products and services
    • Quickly and accurately complete transactions within Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
    • Ensure documentation and guidelines of policy/procedure are followed and captures detailed notes in customer files
    • Manage and resolve customer concerns or issue
    • Identify customer needs and requirements while focusing on their priorities to ensure they receive the best advice
    • Provide mortgage solutions by employing a thorough knowledge of all CMLS Financial products available
    • Contact borrowers who have requested to do a covenant change, title transfers & assumptions
    • Manage all aspects of covenant change, title transfers & assumptions including qualification, underwriting, and instructing of such loans until completion. Including:
    • Analyzing financial data, assessing applicant information & collection of documents, adhering to underwriting guidelines, and collaborating with other departments
    • Follow up on any outstanding conditions until deal completion
    • Provide status updates, follow-up for necessary documentation and reporting
    • Review calls for Internals Sales & Renewal Specialist and evaluating adherence to company protocols, providing feedback, and suggesting improvements to enhance
    • customer experience and service quality
    • Provide feedback to manager regarding service quality and training needs
    • Assist with training as needed
    • Complete other mortgage administration duties as required
    • Assist with special projects as assigned

    This role is for you, if you have:

    • A post-secondary degree or diploma in business or other applicable areas.
    • 1 to 2 years or experience in residential mortgage administration, financial services or residential underwriting.
    • 1 to 2 years of experience reviewing residential mortgage documentation
    • Successfully completed the Provincial Mortgage Agent Course or willingness to complete the Course immediately upon hire
    • Intermediate experience using Microsoft Office suite products
    • Strong customer service skills that help build relationships resulting in high client satisfaction and retention
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and are able to work well independently as well as within a team environment
    • Demonstrated professionalism, good judgement, and integrity in daily operations
    • The ability to manage high-volumes in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent time management skills and can adapt to frequent changes
    • Demonstrated ability to think of outside the box solutions
    • An understanding of general underwriting guidelines and policies
    • Bi-lingual (English & French) is considered to be an asset.
