Position Details

Reporting to the Director of Claims, you will manage, support and oversee the successful operations of Accident Benefits (AB) claims. You will ensure claims are properly investigated, evaluated, and resolved within the company’s contractual, regulatory, and legal obligations, while ensuring timely service and appropriate payments to claimants and policyholders.

What You Will Do

• Manage a team of Accident Benefits Unit Managers; recruitment, performance management and day to day support of team
• Works with management in executing claims corporate strategies, creating performance targets & goals that compliment those strategies
• Communicates strategy and production targets in a meaningful, persuasive way encouraging engagement and alignment within the team
• Accountable for the customer experience as delivered by the team

Who You Are

• Post-secondary diploma/degree and CIP designation, or industry experience as an equivalent
• A minimum of 5-10 years of leadership and management experience is required
• A minimum of 5-10 years of handling P&C and commercial AB claims
• CIP and/or FCIP designation, CRM
• Relevant claims experience, inclusive of technical and coverage issues, management / resolution
• Working knowledge of the SABs, LAT and other legislation governing P&C and commercial insurance claims
• Experience in training / mentoring / coaching using a variety of approaches
