About the Position
Open to being based in Winnipeg, MB, and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Junior Financial Analyst will be part of the Western Canadian CFO team, with personnel in Vancouver, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. The successful applicant will maintain and distribute existing reporting and analysis as related to financial and operational metrics.
The primary responsibilities include:
Participate in the month-end close process
Assist with identifying, researching, and communicating key variances relating to financial and operational metrics
Assist with monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
Contribute to the preparation and distribution of month end internal reports for all levels of management
High degree of involvement in annual budget process
Liaise with the HUB Financial Center (transactional accounting center)
Various other ad hoc assignments, as required
Position Requirements
Education and/or experience in a Finance, Accounting or a related field preferred
Entry level position, some office experience preferred
Highly proficient MS Excel skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels of the organization including Executives, Producers, Managers, Internal Auditors and HUB Financial Center
Proactive drive to get tasks completed and anticipate what is needed
Ability to work under tight deadlines and willingness to work overtime, particularly during the month-end close and budget process
