About the position
As the Cyber Security Solutions Architect, you help shape and implement IT security standards and reference architectures at the Bank. You work on enterprise business projects to define and develop security solutions, collaborate with technical subject matter experts to provide an overall holistic security architecture. You keep abreast of the latest challenges in the security industry to integrate them into our solutions and help inform IT and business partners on cyber security best practices. The Bank is at the forefront of cyber security, investing in the latest technologies in order to provide a superior security service in a world-class organization.
Your future responsibilities
- lead the delivery of the security solution design based on business, operational, technical and security requirements, as well as IT strategies, with a focus on Microsoft’s digital collaboration tools (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, MS Teams, etc.), multimedia technologies for meeting rooms and event spaces, end user device management technologies (including Windows authentication solutions, conditional access policies, Intune, etc.)
- participate in all phases of the solution development life cycle to implement the required information technology, adding technical know-how, creativity and a seasoned perspective to initiatives and teams
- facilitate the evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations and their implementation and migration into operations
- work with the business to understand this systems interdependencies and identify potential threat against these system. Apply a threat modeling approach to mitigate the identified potential threats
- work with the business architect and IT solution architect to assess the proposed solution against the Bbank technical security standards and produce a solution design assessment report
- research and monitor technology developments and industry trends; assess their applicability, functionality, and reliability for the Bank; and recommend technologies that will enhance productivity and the achievement of the client’s business objectives
- contribute to the development of the overall Cyber Security Solution Architecture processes, tools, standards and templates
- build long-term relationships and partnerships with clients and suppliers to support evolving business needs and be able to represent the Bank’s interests with stakeholders
Your education and experience
- a university degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related discipline
and
- a minimum of 7 years of recent relevant work experience in the IT field, including;
- a minimum of three to five years of experience in developing solutions architecture
- a minimum of three to five years of IT security experience
or
- an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Assets
- ability to work with an enterprise architecture framework and group
- strong knowledge of ITIL processes
- strong knowledge of principles and best practices in software architecture and architectural/design patterns and frameworks
- knowledge of implementing secure applications
- excellent knowledge of all aspects of testing, including unit and stress testing
Your knowledge and skills
- demonstrated experience in a variety of security technologies such as:
- intrusion detection systems
- firewalls
- proxy
- application security
- end-point protection systems
- security event and incident management platforms
- access privilege management solutions
- identity-management tools
- cloud security access broker solutions
- cloud secuirity solutions
- certificate authorities and public key infrastructure solutions
- mobility security solutions
- demonstrated experience in the application of compliance frameworks such as NIST 800.53r4 and ISO 270001
- demonstrated experience in the development and application of security policies and security technical standards
- demonstrated experience with different architecture and design techniques (e.g., object-oriented, top-down, structured analysis and component-based design) and tools
- strong business acumen, including the ability to translate business needs into application solutions
- ability to quickly grasp the essence of a complex issue and to synthesize data and views to capture and communicate key points, organize content and write in a style that is appropriate to the audience
What you need to know
- Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of intermediate (level 3) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of functional (level 4) in second official language.
- Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
- Security level required: Be eligible to obtain Secret

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $99,340 to $124,175 (job grade 18)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers performance pay for those who exceed expectations (15% of your base salary).. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
