    Job description: What can you expect in this role?

    Reporting to the Team Lead, Finance, the Customer Service Representative (CSR), Billing will perform a variety of customer service, administrative, and accounting functions within the department.

    The incumbent must possess strong customer service skills, be an effective team player, be detail-oriented, and maintain integrity in all dealings. The CSR, Billing needs to easily learn new skills, be adaptive to change, as well as be analytical and decisive while working within the parameters of assigned authority.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support inquiries through various channels (phone, email) pertaining to pricing, billing, and payments in an efficient manner using their knowledge and decision-making authority to effectively resolve broker inquiries in a single contact.
    • Coordinate payment arrangements with customers that are in delinquent status.
    • Advise customers and brokers about corporate Finance policies and procedures.
    • Generate and distribute payment overdue notices and collection letters.
    • Receive payments and process deposits (cheques, EFT payments, credit card payments)
    • Manage Agency Bill business including payment management, statement keying, and reconciliations.
    • Responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed financial records according to company procedure.
    • Assist with Accounts Payable and print claims cheques.
    • Complete assorted journal entries as required.
    • Act as back-up to other team members as required.

    Experience & Qualifications

    Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.

    • University degree or college diploma
    • Minimum 1 year experience in a customer service capacity, ideally with experience in billing duties
    • 1 year of work experience in an accounting function at a small or medium size business is an asset.
    • Must have a minimum of a Broker Level 1 License or be willing to obtain the license within the first 3 months of employment (cost covered by Family).
    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent organizational, time management and analytical skills
    • Ability to solve problems by gathering and reviewing available information.
    • Demonstrates professionalism and courteousness in all interactions with both internal staff and external business partners and remains calm under pressure.
    • Works well independently and in a team environment and manages effectively in a fast-paced environment.
