Our national insurance provider client is in search of a versatile Bilingual Commercial Underwriter to become part of their team. This position Reports to the Director, Play Sector, this position is responsible for underwriting the relevant line of business within agreed business plan parameters, and in line with underwriting authority, in order to achieve agreed combined ratio targets.
- Reviews and processes changes on existing accounts to maintain compliance with policy conditions and company underwriting philosophy.
- Identify, analyze, and develop sources of new business; assists in developing marketing strategies for new or improved products.
- Partner with peers in other product lines to leverage multi-line opportunities.
- Establish and maintain superior business and service-oriented partnerships with Markel’s broker clients through, regular and frequent attendance at client broker events and industry conferences.
- Maintain market intelligence, business insurance trends and industry knowledge
- 2+ years’ casualty underwriting experience
- Sport and leisure underwriting experience an asset
- Bilingualism (French/English)
