    Job description: About The Role

    The Complex Risks unit is looking for a dynamic and results oriented Account Associate to join our growing practice in Toronto. This is an ideal role for someone who possesses strong commercial insurance experience.

    What You’ll Do

    • Day to day activities for clients and prospects including:
    • File management, preparation of client renewal packages (certificates, summaries, etc.)
    • Calculating provincial taxes and preparing premium finance quotes, etc.
    • Timely issuance of submissions, binders, summaries, policies etc.
    • Effective communication with clients and third parties; i.e., answering client inquiries and communicating with insurance companies
    • Effective management of abeyance system
    • Negotiation and use of Finance Plans
    • Minimizing Daily Sales Outstanding (DSO) to HUB standards
    • Preparing for and participating in client meetings
    • Policy reviews against binders/quotes to ensure accuracy
    • Work actively with underwriters for terms

    What You’ll Need for Success

    • Valid RIBO license
    • Typically, 2+ years of commercial insurance experience
    • Experience in market negotiations on commercial policies is an asset
    • Strong aptitude to learn new risks along with a desire to keep up to date with emerging trends
    • Results-oriented and passionate, with a strong sense of accountability and client management skills
    • Detail-oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills
    • A Solid team player who also possesses independence of thought
    • Proactive client-focused approach with effective negotiation and follow-up skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel (formulas and pivot tables), PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Experience with Applied EPIC or similar insurance broker management systems
