ABOUT THE POSITION

Working alongside a team of Claims Examiners/Adjusters, and reporting to the Claims Manager, the Claims Handler will play a valuable role in analyzing and assigning claims files to appropriate adjusters. This person should be familiar with various sorts of claims and must have solid organization and attention-to-details.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Analyze incoming claims documents, interpret policy terms and conditions to determine coverage validity
• Assign claims files to adjusters and ensure timely and balanced distribution
• Maintain effective adjusters, London markets, and internal teams to facilitate claims resolution and negotiations
• Utilize policy knowledge to accurately assess claims, propose resolutions, and contribute to decision-making
• Ensure adherence to company policies, regulations, and ethical standards while maintaining organized records of claims activities.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have previous experience as a claims assistant or handler and knowledge of different P&C products
• A Level-1 broker license would be an asset
• Industry designations or enrollment (CIP, CAIB, CRM) are nice to haves
• Must have solid knowledge of complex insurance policy wordings
• Time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills are required to thrive in this role
• Must have good written and verbal communications skills
• Must be willing to work onsite out of the Downtown Vancouver head office
