Position Details
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Claims Manager, National Operations, the Claims Analytics Consultant is responsible for leading analytics, data reporting and performance management in support of our strategic plan across the National Claims Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for detailed requirements gathering, documenting processes, as well as user acceptance testing. The successful candidate will have an analytical thought process and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users. This includes the development and delivery of data and performance reporting as well as supporting required analysis across key performance indicators.
- Drive the development and execution of comprehensive analytics and data intelligence to support the enterprise
- Lead the creation and delivery of Claims quarterly performance reporting to major stakeholders
- Lead the Risk Sharing Pool reporting for Claims
- Lead the coordination of data and reporting systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain the data infrastructure to support the strategic plan to achieve business objectives
- Develop and support the enhancement of Business Intelligence applications (QlikView, Power BI, etc.) to better analyze business performance with recommendations for improvement
- Conduct ongoing analysis to areas of opportunity and prepare trend analysis reports with business strategy recommendations
- Facilitate and lead the coordination of capacity analysis for resource and budget management
- Support the creation and delivery of ad-hoc data reporting as required across all lines of business
- Identify opportunities to utilize technology and improve the effectiveness of the Reporting and Analytics division
- Ensure strong relationships with other functional areas and multiple stakeholders across the enterprise
Who You Are
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with claims data management or actuarial related experience
- Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience leading IT related projects
- Working experience with Business Intelligence Applications
- Knowledgeable of new regulatory developments affecting property & casualty insurance business
- Ability to lead through change and implement strategies while adapting to changing business needs
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
- University Degree or College Diploma in a related field is preferred
- CIP designation or working towards and provincial licensing (if/where required) is an asset
- Quebec candidates must be bilingual in English and French (verbal and written communications)
