The position

Under the supervision of the Development Team Manager, you’ll have 3 key missions:

1. Animation of brokers’ offices

• Meeting brokers daily to understand their strategy and highlight touchpoints with APRIL’s priorities
• Taking all necessary actions to get brokers to use our online portal APRIL ON: demo, training, giving credentials
• Being active in training brokers through our accredited APRIL Academy courses
• Create new accredited training to continue the growth of APRIL Academy
• Reporting weekly activity in APRIL Marine’s CRM
• Analysing broker performance numbers and proactively offering ways to develop the brokerage’s business
• Staying open to growth opportunities through book roll over or special programs
• Attending industry meetings and events, including activity on social media, increasing APRIL Marine offer awareness
• Be creative on new ways to generate new business

Connecting to the rest of the APRIL Marine team (underwriters, directors, digital, marketing, other business developers) to feed them with some feedback from the field in order to stay relevant

2. Supporting dealer partners

• Build and develop the network by providing them with a turnkey solution
• Closely monitoring partners and visiting them at their dealerships

3. Developing partners for the APRIL Marine Club

• Finding new value-added partners for Club APRIL Marine members
• Attendance at boat shows (1 to 3 per year)

You will fit in with our team if you:

• Have 3-5 years of experience in sales, ideally in the insurance field and/or nautical sales
• You’re passionate about boating
• Have robust communication and customer service skills
• Have planning and organization skills, enjoying autonomy with a remote manager
• Have strong work ethics and flexibility
• Have a good team spirit and a willingness to collaborate, even remotely
• Are curious and like to learn, enjoying a stimulating and dynamic work environment
• Are fluent in English, intermediate in French
• Have a valid driver’s license
• Ideally, you live in Ontario (south Québec is possible) and are willing to come to our office in Québec (Brossard) at least once a month in order to connect with colleagues. The rest would be remote work from your home or office in Toronto
