Brokerage Sales Representative (Trainee)

12-month term which is expected to continue in a permanent capacity

Vernon, British Columbia

Our Brokerage Sales Representative (Trainee) is a motivated and driven professional with an interest in pursuing a career in sales within the forest products industry. This unique role, starting as a 12-month term and expected to continue in a permanent capacity, will provide the successful candidate with the potential to grow professionally and financially.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in a related field.
• Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for sales.
• Previous sales experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service orientation with a passion for building relationships.
• Strong Business and Financial acumen.
• Ability to multitask and make quick decisions.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be a team player.
• Knowledge of the forestry industry or experience in wood products manufacturing considered an asset.

In your role you will:

• Receive extensive training in product knowledge, supply chain, operations, account management, industry practices and so much more.
• Be part of Tolko’s Brokerage Department which is an integral part of Tolko’s Sales and Marketing Team.
• Work with a dynamic team of highly skilled and experienced Sales Representatives who focus on establishing strong, trust-based relationships with both suppliers and customers.
• Report to the Brokerage Controller.
• Learn how to manage buying and selling lumber, panel products, and engineered wood products.
• Develop customer relationships and organize transportation routes.
• Need to be a problem solver and solution finder for every aspect of the customer’s needs.
