    Reporting to the Head of Growth, we are currently looking for a Bilingual General Manager, Leclerc Operations (Hybrid work arrangement)

    Frequent travel to our office located in Drummondville, Quebec is required.

    Job Description

    What you will do:

    • Oversee all broker operations to ensure they are consistent with the overall strategy of improving the top and bottom line and assure a smooth functioning, efficient operation.
    • Enhance and develop policies and procedures that improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the brokerage.
    • Assure service quality and organizational stability through development and implementation of quality control standards and financial and internal controls, ensuring acceptable results on a consistent basis. Continuously review and evaluate processes, procedures and systems to ensure optimal operational effectiveness. Initiate changes deemed necessary to improve operations. Evaluate new systems for potential implementation and process improvements. Reduce footprint where necessary, adapting to technology and exploring paperless options for implementation if feasible.
    • Work with the Vice President, Lifestyle and members of the IIS Advisory Team to develop high quality business strategies and plans for the Leclerc brokerage, ensuring its alignment with short and long-term objectives.
    • Work with the Vice President, Lifestyle and members of the IIS Advisory Team in a budget exercise to ensure attaining of brokerage growth objectives. Responsible for effective fund deployment to obtain cost-effective operations that maintain the highest level of customer service quality.
    • Train a high performing management team to help lead and motivate employees and advance employee engagement. Assure a working environment that recruits, retains and supports quality employees.
    • Maintain trusted relationships with key partners and insurers.
    • Enforce the adherence to our in-house policies to maintain the brokerage’s good standing. Assure the filing of all regulatory documents and monitor compliance with a relevant regional regulator.
    • Support the Vice President, Marketing by consulting on the yearly marketing vision and tactical plans, sharing Quebec-specific market expertise.
    • Support the Director, Business Development, and their team in maximizing market penetration of current groups.
    • Maintain a deep knowledge of the insurance market and the industry. Act as an advocate within the industry for issues relevant to Orbit Insurance Services. specific to Quebec.
    • Performs other roles in the best interest of Leclerc such as Privacy Officer, French Language Representative and AMF Signing Authority.

    Qualifications

    What you will bring:

    • Bachelor of Arts; Business Degree (B.B.A., B. Comm.); or equivalent insurance designation (CAIB, CIB, CIP, FCIP) is recommended.
    • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues and internal partners across Canada.
    • An AMF licence is required.
    • A minimum of ten years of experience in individual insurance underwriting, sales and service, including a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management role.
    • A minimum of three years of experience in managing an operation.
    • Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
    • Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
