Job description: Based in Windsor, this is a great opportunity for an experienced accountant who is looking for a new challenge! This role can be hybrid or fully remote.

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Impact Recruitment has partnered with an established insurance broker that has been in the business for over a decade and has continued to be a leader in their niche. Currently, they’re looking to add an experienced accountant to their team, the ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director, the accountant will be responsible for full cycle accounting work, some of the duties include but aren’t limited to:

• Monitor, validate, and reconcile broker commission payments, internal producer payments and joint venture payments.
• Assist with agency billing and AR invoices and maintain commission and revenue expense models.
• Provide ad hoc analysis on revenues and expenses as needed.
• review and advise on monthly carrier statement reconciliations to the broker management system.
• Track variances in monthly reporting vs budgets and prior year schedules.
• Assist with financial statements, budgets and cashflow statements.
• Work on year-end audits and asses/validate completeness of data.
• Ad hoc duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Diploma or degree in accounting
• Experience working in the insurance industry is an asset.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Salary: $60,000 to $80,000
• Extended health and dental
• 2 to 3 weeks’ vacation
• Hybrid/remote working option.
