Responsibilities
We are looking to fill a full time role for an Account Manager in our Energy Division. If selected, you will be part of a dynamic team, effectively handling a commercial book of business while working on a fun and collaborative team and under the direct supervision of the Account Executive. Responsibilities
- Maintain existing business by building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and agencies
- Research information to enable strategic decision making for the client
- Prepare and deliver high quality presentations and proposals tailored to each client
- Effectively manage and maintain client and business information, according to best practice and standards, utilizing a variety of core business applications. This would include but not be limited to EPIC, Word and Excel
- Insurance program development and placement service, as required
- Actively prospect for and develop new business opportunities
- Work with internal teams, colleagues, and managers to develop creative solutions and integrated sales programs for clients
- Respond to queries and follow up on all client calls and e-mails
- Update and maintain all account history and activity reports
- Prepare weekly or monthly sales status reports
- Attend industry events
- Review of documentation for routine policy changes, additions, deletions, renewals or cancellations
- Processing insurance applications, endorsements, binders, quotes, rating, etc.
- Maintains renewal list and tracks expiry dates for the proactive planning of renewal and for follow up internally for up to date information
- Communicate directly with underwriters and account teams to follow-up or obtain additional information per best practice and standards
- Preparation of client facing documentation including certificates of insurance as maybe required
- Prepare client service summaries, program reports and client survey information
- Coordinate all client/insurer follow-up
- Manage, organize and update relevant data using database applications
- File creation and organization of client documentation
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
- License(s) essential to provincial licensing jurisdictions as required for the position along with management of continuing education hours
- Insurance designations and/or courses completed towards designations an asset
- Five (5) years energy insurance experience
- Ability to learn on a continual basis through educational opportunities and collaboration with colleagues
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner both verbally and in writing
- Strong analytical, organization and time management skills
- Proven Proficiency in MS products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Adobe products
- Familiar with insurance document management software (EPIC)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of work
- Ability to multi-task between a variety of tasks, projects, and deadlines
- Possess proficient commercial knowledge
- Able to work with minimal direct supervision
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proven negotiation skills
