    Job description: Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your underwriting skills? Look no further! We’re currently seeking an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter to join our fast-growing client’s Vancouver or Campbell River office.

    Note: This position requires full-time on-site availability.

The team has grown to over 60 staff members in less than two years and they continue to grow their operations. The client offers unique and tailored solutions for Personal lines (including marine) and commercial lines insurance needs.

    ABOUT THE POSTION

    As a Personal Lines Underwriter, you will work in a team of other underwriters and underwriting assistants in a high volume environment with a focus on excellent customer service and troubleshooting for broker partners. You will be tasked with underwriting new business and renewals with very little processing if any.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    • Utilize your expertise and experience to assess and evaluate specialty personal lines risks within your limits of authority
    • Offer assistance, respond to inquiries, and establish strong relationships with our brokers to provide exceptional support
    • Prepare underwriting instructions for processing various tasks such as renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and new business
    • Maintain high standards of performance and meet deadlines to ensure quality service delivery
    • Act as a representative for the company by promoting and embodying the company culture, values, and brand promise
    • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned or needed.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • At least 3 years of Personal lines experience either as an underwriter or a broker
    • Ideal candidate should have or be able to obtain a broker license
    • CIP/CAIB designations are assets
    • Strong written and verbal communication
    • Proven client-service and relationship management skills
    • Must able to work in an organization with constant changes in priorities
    • Positive attitude, strong collaboration skills
    • Must be able to work in the office on a full-time basis
    • Successful completion of criminal record check
