Established over 35 years ago, our client is an independent brokerage that specializes in a wide range of insurance products including Home, Auto, Life, and Travel. Their Commercial Insurance department can handle anything from a small contractor to a large commercial enterprise with a specialization in transportation, warehousing, and bonding
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Commercial Lines Manager, the Commercial Lines Marketer will play an integral role as part of the Commercial Insurance Division providing exceptional service to their clients while providing ongoing support to the producers. This role is based out of their Commercial Head Office and you will be working in a fast-paced environment alongside some of the most knowledgeable insurance brokers in BC.
ABOUT THE POSITION
As the Commercial Lines Marketer, you will be responsible for:
- Preparation of documents which include submissions, proposals, binders, and endorsements
- Handling routine inquiries such as day-to-day requests by producers and clients
- Analyzing client coverages, exposures, and loss experience to determine risk requirements
- Marketing new submissions and renewals
- Maintaining professional relationships with underwriters, co-workers, and clients
- Evaluating the insurance needs of clients and prospects (ensuring no gaps or lapses in coverage)
- Regularly follow up with all prospects
- Working with a team to achieve company goals and develop new business
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Hold a Level 2 Insurance Broker license in British Columbia
- Have 3 to 10 years of experience in commercial insurance, preferably in placing commercial insurance risk with various insurers
- Portal experience – using Intact, Aviva, Wawanesa, Premier, etc.
- Creative thinker – Problem solver
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel; Outlook)
- Familiarity with EPIC an asset
- Must have exceptional verbal and written communication in English
COMPENSATION
- $75,000 to $100,000 per annum. (based on experience) + commissions + discretionary bonus.
