ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Senior Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of diverse commercial claims. Your primary goal will be to review, evaluate, and analyze claims, assess their validity, determine coverage, and ensure fair settlement according to established policies and guidelines.
ABOUT THE POSITION
- Review and assess diverse commercial P&C insurance claims (property, liability, catastrophe, business interruption, cyber etc.)
- Verify policy coverage and ensure compliance with policy terms and conditions
- Conduct thorough investigations to gather additional information when necessary (including occasional on-site examination of large and complex claims)
- Analyze claim documentation, including reports and other relevant information to determine claim legitimacy
- Determine appropriate settlement amounts within policy limits
- Communicate with policyholders, underwriters, legal teams, and broker partners to gather information, explain claim decisions, and provide assistance throughout the claims process
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, documentation, and records
- Stay updated on industry regulations, policies, and procedures
- Identify potential fraudulent activities and escalate suspicious claims for further investigation
THE REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of Commercial P&C claims experience
- Experience managing the insurance claims of non-profit organizations, social services, or heritage and cultural institutions
- Proactive team player
- High attention to detail with strong communication and decision-making skills
- Flexibility to occasionally travel (nationwide)
COMPENSATION
- $100,000 – $130,000
