Our client is a leading insurance brokerage who have dedicated teams specializing in insurance, surety, warranty, and risk management. Coming from humble beginnings, after being in business for over 40 years, our client now has over 200 employees across three provinces in Canada.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Surety Account Executive, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of contract surety business, primarily focusing on clients in the general contracting and miscellaneous construction industries. Your main objectives will be maintaining existing business relationships while attracting new clients. You will split your time between office work and client servicing, which includes meetings, conducting site visits, and more. Collaboration with Account Managers and Bond processors will be essential to understand client requirements and provide recommendations on bond facility terms and rates.
ABOUT THE POSITION
- Providing exceptional client service to maintain the highest possible client retention rate
- Generating new business annually to expand client portfolio
- Cross-selling and upselling existing accounts to benefit clients
- Organizing and participating in internal renewal strategy meetings
- Attending external client meetings when necessary
- Promptly responding to client inquiries via email and phone calls
- Reviewing client documents and writing correspondence to clients
- Collaborating with Surities on facilities, specific bonds, and mid-term changes
- Providing bond costing for clients prior to tender closing
- Following up on accounts receivables and collecting payments as required
- Adhering to corporate policies and procedures
- Maintaining continuing education credits for licensing
- Undertaking miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of Surety/Bonding is a definite asset (either as a broker, underwriter, or an accountant in the construction/contracting industry)
- Construction experience is advantageous
- Level-2 broker license
- Industry designations such as, CIP, CRM, CAIB is beneficial
- Exceptional organization and prioritization skills
- Experience with MS Office Suite

- Competitive base salary negotiable based on experience
