Position Details
What You Will Do
- Ensure claims adjusters and leaders are calibrated to standard work, identifying key improvement opportunities and trends and contribute to the building of action plans.
- Champion change and continuous improvement within the Claims Department.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends and changes to ensure Echelon is prepared to respond in a manner consistent with our vision and values.
- Collaborates with members of the Claims team to understand opportunities for improvement and leverage resources to build exceptional file handling practices and capabilities.
- Recommend and participate in training and improvement activities based on trends in quality assurance and compliance audits with leadership of the Policy and Procedures library for claims
- Participate in colleague coaching, mentoring and group training as needed.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders and all associated reporting requirements related to Regulatory and Internal Compliance matters.
- Assist with customer escalation as needed.
- Support leaders in creating an environment for continuous performance and process improvement
- Participate in special projects, assignments and other duties as assigned
- Identify trends and opportunities to improve the overall quality and performance in the delivery of claims services.
- Maintain documentation to coordinate department level workflows, audit processes and associated compliance
- Responsibility for updating and maintaining compliance with IBC coding corrections
- Oversight and submissions for regulatory requirements for Facility Association (Risk Sharing Pool) submissions on behalf of Claims nationally
- Creation of regulatory and customer service letters across Claims
- Management of adjudication licenses across Claims to ensure compliance within the Atlantic and Quebec regions
- Creation and oversight of a Claims wide Share Point site housing process & procedure documents (OSFI requirement)
- Creation and updating of process and procedure documents
Who You Are
- Post-secondary education completed in a related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- CIP / FCIP designation or working towards completion is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory compliance and claims workflows and procedures
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills to meet demanding deadlines and produce high-quality work
- Excellent organizational skills and adjust work schedules according to changing priorities
- Ability to adjust work schedule and participate in extended hours duties as required
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to deal with a variety of internal clients
- Strong ability to quickly and accurately review claims for audit requirements
- Exceptional team player yet capable of operating independently
- Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and various Claims systems
- Prior claims compliance coordination experience
- Prior project participation with creation and management of workflow processes
