Job Title: Team Leader
Location: Oakville (hybrid, 3 days in the office with flexibility)

- Serving as the point person for the combined teams, addressing day-to-day operational issues and ensuring smooth workflows.
- Developing advanced knowledge of our BMS (Broker Management System) and corresponding workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Promoting accountability for quality of work and key performance goals within the teams, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Running various monthly reports to measure performance, production, retention, expiration, outstanding processing, and conducting general audits.
- Conducting positive and purposeful team meetings, fostering open communication and collaboration.
- Providing support to other team members as needed, whether it’s assisting AAs, Personal AMs, or HNW team members.
- Playing an active role in recruiting and training new hires within the team, providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentorship.
- Collaborating with Management to develop an annual Performance Management Plan (PMP) for each team member, ensuring their growth and success.
- Escalating employee concerns and performance issues to Management or Human Resources, taking a proactive approach to address challenges.
- Maintaining confidentiality on all discussions with Management, building trust and a supportive work environment.
As a Team Leader, you will have additional responsibilities that contribute to the overall success of the team and department. These include:
- Scheduling and approving vacation and personal days within the team, while maintaining accurate attendance records for year-end reconciliation.
- Managing team-building expenses based on an annual budget approved by Management, creating a positive and engaging work environment.
- Maintaining your RIBO license and other required provincial licenses, staying compliant with industry regulations.
- Cultivating strong relationships with underwriters, ensuring seamless collaboration and a deep understanding of market trends and underwriting appetite.
- Continuously expanding your knowledge of markets and underwriting practices through ongoing learning and development opportunities.
- Completing a Leadership Training course, equipping yourself with valuable skills to inspire and lead your team effectively.
Requirements:
- University Degree (preferred)
- RIBO License required, CAIB, CIP, & CRM certifications are assets
- Proven industry and managerial experience in Personal Lines required
- Brokerage experience would be an asset
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in EPIC, advanced MS Office & Excel skills
