POSITION OVERVIEW:
As an Account Executive, your primary responsibility will be to identify and secure new business opportunities in Alberta while effectively managing an existing client portfolio. We seek a proactive team player with a strong grasp of Commercial Lines products and a talent for client engagement and brand development.
The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset, thrive in fast-paced environments, and maintain a client-centric approach. Demonstrating resilience and adaptability, along with a positive demeanor, will be key to excelling in this role. Self-motivation and a willingness to lead through change are crucial for success.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Valid Level 2 General Insurance License issued by the Alberta Insurance Council is required
- 3-5 years of experience in Commercial Lines, preferably within a brokerage setting
- High level of professionalism and ethical conduct
- Self-motivation, attention to detail, reliability, and strong prioritization skills
- Insurance designations such as CAIB or CIP, or willingness to pursue them, are advantageous
- Familiarity with Power Broker and Policy Works is a plus
- Positive and collaborative attitude in client and team interactions
- Ability to manage a client portfolio independently and collaborate effectively with remote teams
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively pursue new clients, retain existing ones, and meet or exceed monthly sales targets
- Provide expert advice on Commercial Lines Insurance to prospects and clients
- Manage account receivables and respond promptly to client inquiries and referrals
- Cultivate and expand client relationships through referrals, networking, and upselling
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions
- Foster strong relationships with colleagues and underwriters
- Facilitate communication with insurance companies and negotiate on behalf of clients
- Keep clients informed of policy changes and renewal reviews
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry in BMS and CRM systems
- Review and address pending tasks promptly
