Associate II – Broking

We will count on you to:

Work collaboratively with senior members of the Canadian reinsurance broker team in the analyzing of data and broking of reinsurance solutions that address client needs

Demonstrate exceptional communication skills in order to distill highly technical/actuarial concepts into business terms that speak to the C-suite.

Support business growth by proactively reaching out to client prospects and nurture relationships with your peers in the re/insurance industry.

Answer questions and concerns from clients and reinsurers, and quickly find solutions to problems

Leverage internal capabilities together with actuarial and catastrophe modeling professionals to develop best-in-class reinsurance analytics

Liaise with contracts and accounting specialists to ensure flawless client servicing

Develop relationships and engage with new business prospects

Activate existing sales strategies and help develop new sales initiatives

Who we are looking for:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial science or finance

5-7 years of applicable experience in insurance and ideally in reinsurance

Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining relationships and interactions with colleagues, clients and reinsurers

Adept at prioritizing workload according to volume, urgency, timelines, etc.

Strong technical background as to be able engage with clients on complex topics

Excellent communications skills

Experience in sales and/or underwriting in the insurance, reinsurance or related financial services sector

Profound understanding of insurance and/or reinsurance concepts and terms, including IFRS accounting 17
