Position Details
What You Will Do
The Manager of Operation Business Solutions will lead a team of consultants and analysts, driving excellence in business analysis, application testing, delivery, and production application support in support of the insurance operations teams. Your responsibilities extend to overseeing the Guidewire Maintenance Release process, grooming the product backlog, providing guidance to your team on the successful delivery of new features and fixes, and ensuring clear communication of timelines to stakeholders. As a key influencer, you will build and nurture cross-functional relationships, negotiating scope and timing between business and IT teams for releases. Your strategic oversight will encompass providing guidance on requirements gathering and solution design, conducting regular process reviews, and supporting the development and growth of the team.
Lead a team of consultants and analysts focused on business analysis, application testing, overall delivery, and production application support for Guidewire systems on behalf of the business teams.
- Lead the Guidewire Maintenance Release process, including but limited to intake and prioritization of the product backlog, clear communication of timelines to stakeholders, assessing capacity and estimating work effort to gather requirements, and execution of user acceptance testing on behalf of the business.
- Maintain oversight, understand and provide guidance to team members on any critical production issues reported via the Guidewire Helpdesk.
- Establish a regular cadence with direct reports to obtain status updates, identify and prioritize blockers, and provide direction on plans of action for all assigned initiatives.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and facilitate negotiation of scope and timing between business and IT teams for all releases.
- Provide oversight and guidance for requirements gathering and solution design while considering risk, efficiency, long-term effectiveness and scalability.
- Conduct regular reviews and recommend improvement opportunities for all assigned processes including incident management, business analysis and testing.
- Represent the business in signing off on all production deployments, ensuring processes have been adhered to and completed.
- Work with communications and learning and development teams to support change management and communications activities.
- Provide development, leadership, guidance and mentoring to direct reports.
Who You Are
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or IT Technology Management
- 7-9 years in a P&C Insurance environment, preferably in a technology role
- Working towards PMP, CIP and/or Six Sigma
- Agile Product Management certifications are a strong asset
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Strong business intelligence and quality assurance background
- Solid Project Management experience
