At HUB Atlantic, we’re expanding our team and seeking a proactive Branch Manager and Team Leader for our Commercial Lines division in Saint John, NB. Your role will be pivotal in driving new business, leading our dedicated team of Account Managers, and upholding our high standards of service and expertise. This is an ideal role for a strong Commercial Broker, with strong operations and broad insurance brokerage experience.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor a team of commercial insurance brokers.
- Drive new business development and lead annual client reviews.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and insurers, contributing to strategy and direction as provided by Management.
- Implement improvements in workflows and procedures for sales and service.
- Ensure that all commercial lines department guidelines are met, acting as a true ‘Champion’ for high standards.
- Manage team performance, including the annual review cycle, and assist employees in meeting their annual goals and job metrics.
- Address complex or escalated client situations, including coverage and claims reviews.
- Work closely with Management and the HR team for staffing and recruitment processes.
- Be the ‘go-to’ leader for frontline Brokers, effectively multitasking and providing prompt, consistent responses to inquiries.
- Assist in the remarketing of accounts and ensure new business and retention targets are met.
- Provide prompt and efficient customer service to verbal and written inquiries.
What You’ll Need for Success
- College Diploma, University Degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Insurance industry.
- Class III or IV Insurance Agent or Broker license.
- CAIB and CIP Designations (preferred).
- Demonstrated people management experience (e.g., Supervisor, Team Lead, Coach, Mentor, Performance Manager).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in critical thinking, problem-solving, team collaboration, and proactivity.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with Epic BMS (an asset).
- Proficiency in English; French language skills (an asset)
