Our client boasts a wealth of experienced Underwriting specialists who customize solutions for their internal clients when they need advice on covering insurance risks. They work closely with Underwriters to develop unique solutions. They are passionate about maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and love utilizing their strong technical skills to ensure that risks are assessed properly. They also pay attention to the smallest of details, build written communications to help guide our underwriters in risk assessment, and are considered the “go-to” subject matter experts from many of our partners in the various Underwriting Regions.

A bit about the role:
- P&C commercial accounts – mid-market
- Team under consumer business services (CBS) – works with manufacturing and retail
- Total portfolio of 30 million
- Deal with several complex accounts & VIP brokers
- The ideal candidate would be an expert for underwriting P&C commercial and support associates and senior underwriter
- Premium avg. $50k
- Mentor junior underwriters while staying away from people development
- Develops existing broker relationships
- Work above underwriting specialist role
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary school education and/or equivalent on the job experience.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in commercial P&C underwriting -mid market
- Good at sales and negotiating
- Coaching experience for underwriters and leadership experience is an asset and can covey reports to managers
- Broad knowledge and understanding of underwriting disciplines and pricing models
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Completion of CIP, FCIP or CRM designation(s)
