The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Senior Capital Markets Trader to join our Capital Markets team.
Your role will be required to regularly perform essential duties on behalf of the company from your assigned Aviso office. Your role requires you to work onsite 5 days per week at our office at 151 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON.
Reporting to the VP, Capital Markets & Trading the Senior Trader is responsible for trading all asset classes, with a focus on equities.

What your day looks like:
- Execute trade orders, trading multiple products for all asset classes including Equities (CDN/USD), options (CDN/USD), Fixed Income (CDN/USD), new issues, structured products, Foreign Exchange and Stock Lending
- Trade equities through Fidessa and datafile
- Execute bulk, basket and working orders
- End of day file creation and automation
- Support Real Return Bonds, Convertible Bonds and Debentures
- Create bond ladders and execute on CDN/USD bonds
- Execute Trade Swaps and Forwards
- Support conduit business
- CDN/USD Borrowing/Lending
- Customer focus and maintain relationships with new issues provider
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics combined with a minimum of 7 years experience working on a trading desk, executing on all exchanges
- Completion of the following courses required: Canadian Securities course (CSC), Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH), Trader Training Course (TTC), Derivatives Fundamental and Options Licensing Course (DFOL).
- The following licensing requirements are essential: currently registered or eligible to be registered with CIRO as an IR (Options) or RR (Options)
- Must hold or be willing to take the Futures Licensing Course and Options Licensing Course
- Ability to trade all Asset classes with a specialization in Equities
- Experience trading for a CIRO firm using Fidessa
- Experience using Bloomberg and using both fixed income and FX trading platforms
- Approved Trader ID from a previous CIRO firm, as well as a SAM trader ID
- Solid understanding of algorithmic trading (TWAP/ VWAP); step up notes and risk associated with the product; and currency options
- Demonstrated passion for the markets, resulting in a successful trading track record
- Exceptional customer service skills with an ability to successfully work in high pressure environments, under tight deadlines
- Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $121,000 – $150,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
