About the role
We are looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team!
As an Underwriting Assistant in our Personal Lines department, your work will have a big impact within our underwriting distribution department. People will count on you to deliver Intact’s legendary service by analyzing, selecting and processing risks in personal insurance to contribute to a profitable portfolio of business.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity working a minimum of 2 days a week in our Vancouver office.
What you’ll do here:
Process Policy transactions on system including New Business, Renewals, Endorsements, and Cancellations
Answer Broker queries through phones, emails, and memos
Review account information, communicate changes with accounts, review and confirm policy information and coverages with Brokers
Answer phone queue straightforward inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously
What you bring to the table:
Minimum of one (1) year office related experience
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
Post Secondary education is an asset
Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems
Legendary customer service and relationship building skills
Adaptable and flexible with the ability to prioritize work
Proficient data entry skills and strong attention to detail
Exemplary written and verbal communication
Working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset

Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity: $37,900.00 – $56,900.00
