My client is one of Canada’s leading commercial property and casualty insurance carriers and are looking to hire a senior underwriter to their farm and agriculture division.
The role of a Senior Underwriter includes duties such as:
- Maintaining strong relationships with brokers (including regular in-person broker meetings)
- Have an average premium size of $10-$20k
- Take on a mentoring role to aid development and grow your appetite of risks
- Execute renewal guidelines and assess risk profitability.
- Evaluate, document, and price policies for profitability.
- Refer pricing decisions for risks beyond personal authority.
- Review and analyze endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
- Monitor trends and apply best business practices for compliance.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of Underwriting experience, 2 years farm experience required/ strongly preferred
- Intermediate level can be considered
- Personal or commercial lines farm underwriting experience is required/ strongly preferred
- Completed, or pursuing your CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations
- Strong customer service background
- Team-first mentality
Expected salary: $70000 – 90000 per year
