Job description: Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join their team in Vancouver! The ideal candidate must have at least 10 years’ experience in underwriting casualty business, and with strong marketing and relationship building skills.
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:
- Large Commercial and Multinational Business Development and Underwriting
- Ability to qualify and underwrite deal to ensure benefit from both top line and profitability perspective
- Ability to build strong partnerships and collaborate to ensure best outcomes for company and the Broker
- Ensure endorsements, renewals, reissues, and cancellations are reviewed and analyzed in accordance with standards and guidelines
- Focus on new business generation and qualify potential deals for appetite and profit opportunities
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience underwriting casualty business
- University degree or college diploma in Insurance, CIP is preferred
- Proficient technical knowledge of complex risks in line of business and segments
- Very strong marketing and relationship building skills
- Team player with strong leadership, management, and communication skills
