    We have a great opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Operational Optimization Team! This is not your ‘Business-As-Usual’ type of BA role – we are all about optimizing the operation and driving the business towards better results! You’ll work as part of the 400+ strong team in Commercial Insurance in a specialized Optimization Team accountable for making our $1B business operate more effectively and efficiently. The Analyst uses operational data and process mapping to inform Commercial Insurance business leaders how effectively we handle broker demand and finds ways to further optimize the operation.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Partner directly with Underwriting leaders to identify operational inefficiencies, isolate root causes and make recommendations/ tailor solutions to address inefficiencies.
    • Responsible for gathering and analyzing data to identify operational trends and opportunities utilizing Qlik, MINDS, Excel, and other tools.
    • Monitor operational data and prepare presentations/ communication material demonstrating insights based on efficiency tracking and other KPIs.
    • Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders; identify the needs of our partners and specialize solutions that support their objectives.
    • Develop predictive modelling to support future planning, including a comprehensive capacity planning model.
    • Constantly challenge the status quo to ultimately increase the effectiveness of our service to Aviva’s Customers and Partners.
    • Consult with business on risk strategies and deliver solutions that address and optimizes Aviva’s risk exposure.
    • Review all incoming customer and broker demand to assess resource requirements and establish workflows and timelines.
    • Contribute to the department and/or business through active involvement in projects, committees and sharing of best practices

    What You’ll Bring:

    • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a strong asset.
    • Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or related field
    • Lean Six Sigma certification (Asset)
    • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in data analysis supporting/ directly partnering with business leaders.
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in workforce effectiveness, Capacity planning or Workforce Management.
    • Experience in the damage insurance industry is a solid asset
    • Highly curious, with the ability to deconstruct workflow, link concepts, isolate inefficiencies and recommend solution aligned to the business’ environment and objectives.
    • Highly proficient data analysis leveraging Qlik, SQL, SAS, R, Python, Excel VBA, Microsoft Power BI, etc.
    • Expert-level ability to transform data into actionable insights and business recommendations.
    • Embrace and support challenge and change, influence others, manage conflict and ambiguity.
    • Sense of urgency, tenacity and able to deliver on decisions quickly to reach successful conclusions.
    • Effective ability to positively challenge conventional thinking and decisions.
    • Excellent presentation, written communication, and negotiating skills with exposure to a wide audience, including senior management.
    • Collaborative and able to draw upon the collective strengths of others.
    • Ability to make good decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities, and work effectively on multiple projects concurrently.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills
    • Ability to work in a fast pace and changing environment.
