Our team in Toronto currently has an opening for a Product Coordinator
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adheres and actively supports Brenntag Safety First principal
- Regularly reviews purchase requisition report
- Determines appropriate order quantities by analyzing material movements along with any sales forecast provided
- Stock transfers materials between sites
- Prepare purchase order approvals and seek appropriate authorization levels
- Accurately creates purchase orders for inventoried materials with designated suppliers in accordance with established inventory levels and Best Practices
- Expedites orders as required due to changing circumstances
- Dispatches loads thru Traffic department and liaises with customs broker if required
- Coordinates third party direct shipments from suppliers to customers through to invoicing
- Coordinates and schedule material deliveries into own and remote stock sites
- Support Operations production/filling planning process
- Maintains inventory at agreed levels to maximize inventory turns in compliance with company inventory guidelines
- Works with Product Managers to optimize inventory levels and makes recommendations to reorder points taking into account seasonality and/or other strategic requirements
- Maintains purchasing master data in SAP current
- Monitors all open purchase orders to ensure on time delivery and follows up to obtain all required documentation (Certificate of Analysis, Bill of lading, Customs documents, etc.)
- Investigates and verifies invoice discrepancies via Readsoft Accounts Payable system
- Coordinates vendor returns and/or supplier or carrier claims
- Effectively communicates with both internal and external parties to support outstanding Customer Service and Supplier confidence
- Contributes and participates in continuous improvement initiatives and commits to implementing all Connecting
- Chemistry core values to contribute to overall team success
- Completes other tasks and special projects as assigned by manager
YOUR PROFILE
Education and Experience:
- Post-Secondary Education with a focus in Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent
- Independent minded self starter
- Strong team player with superior organizational and communication skills
- Superior analytical skills and detail-orientation with an ability to operate in a very dynamic work environment
- Sound computer skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Previous experience/exposure with ERP Systems, preferably SAP, would be considered an asset
- Prior work experience in purchasing or supply chain, preferably in the chemical distribution industry (1+ years)
- Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designations would be beneficial
