ABOUT THE POSITION
Working alongside a small team of two, reporting to the Claims Manager, the Claims Examiner will play a valuable role in analyzing and overseeing claims investigation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Overseeing insurance claim investigations
- Guiding independent adjusters with investigation instructions
- Analyzing accurate reserves and recommending reserves per company policies
- Meeting reporting standards for company carriers
- Validating claims and settling them per company practices
- Processing claims within assigned authority
- Organizing and managing claim files
- Conducting thorough bill reviews for expense control
- Collaborating with lawyers on litigated files, possibly involving some travel
- Achieving performance targets
- Promoting company culture and values
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of progressive P&C + Liability Claims examining/adjusting experience
- Must have or willing to attain a Level-1 broker license
- Progress toward CIP Designation certification is considered an asset
- Expertise in managing claims from intake resolution
- Sharp attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
COMPENSATION
- Base salary of $80,000 to $90,000 depending on experience
