    We are currently recruiting in our Ottawa office for a:

    Claims Analyst in our Directors and Officers Department

    In our Directors and Officers Department, you will work with legal counsel to develop and coordinate defense strategies to bring insurance claims to a prompt and final resolution.

    We will count on you to:

    • Appoint, direct and work with external legal counsel across Canada and the United States to develop and coordinate defense litigation strategies for the prompt and final resolution of claims.
    • Review and assess new claims to determine coverage under the applicable insurance contract and take appropriate action.
    • Determine and report the liability and damages exposure of the insured in respect of a claim.
    • Coordinate and manage claim files including liaison with insureds, brokers, external counsel and internal clients.
    • Report to insurance company representatives.
    • Some travel may be required.

    What you need to have:

    • 3-4 years of legal work experience and/or legal educational background.
    • Effective problem solver and strong analytical skills in order to analyze problems and develop/implement effective solutions.
    • Exceptional customer service skills in order to build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
    • Service oriented professional with a positive attitude and a strong desire to succeed.
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively function in a team environment.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong analytical abilities.
    • Sound judgment.
    • Strong decision making, organizational and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong computer skills in MS Office.
