Our Underwriters customize solutions for our internal clients when they need advice to cover our insurance risks. They work closely with our Underwriters to develop unique solutions.
They are responsible for providing guidance and governance over unique portfolios in accordance with established guidelines and business objectives. The Executive Underwriter will be expected to solve highly complex problems by applying a breadth of expertise to identify innovative solutions and also in interpreting internal and external business issues and recommending best practices. In addition to underwriting responsibilities, this position is responsible for the mentorship and training of all underwriting staff within the regions, ensuring best practices and guidelines are understood and applied.
They are passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our internal stakeholders – this means emails and phone calls don’t go unanswered, and in-person meetings are regularly penned into their calendars. They also pay attention to the smallest of details, working closely with our Underwriting, Actuarial, and Claims Departments, using their elite interpersonal skills.

You’re great at:
Complex Underwriting

Wordings and Underwriting Guidelines
You have:
10+ years of Underwriting experience
Completed, or pursuing your CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations
Strong customer service background
Team-first mentality

In BC, the pay range for this role is $90,000-$125,000. Actual pay may be below or above range based on candidates’ knowledge, skills, and level of ability relative to expectations for the role applied to. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply.
