    Job Description

    This is an important multi-function role in a Business Centre. Reporting to the Business Centre Manager, the Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for purchasing and managing logistics. The candidate should be highly flexible and adaptable with strong organization and time management skills in order to efficiently complete tasks in a timely manner. ‍

    MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:

    Purchasing

    • Ensure that the Business Centre has sufficient inventory to meet the established customer service goals;
    • Create and place purchase orders
    • Constantly look for ways to reduce cost .
    • Keeps supplier data (special costing, lead-time, etc.) up-to-date;
    • Creates new stock SKU’s when needed;
    • Purchases merchandise from approved suppliers based on price, availability of products, making the right decision for the Business Centre on available data and Manager’s direction;
    • Monitor purchases through the delivery process and expedites orders
    • Manages the inventory write-downs with manager assistance to minimize their financial impact on the Business Centre;
    • Analyses and quickly corrects inventory discrepancies;
    • Working with the Business Centre Manager and salespeople, evaluates new products and product lines, and recommends them;
    • Maintains the integrity of special SKU costs in the system;
    • Create monthly pricelists
    • Manages supplier’s rejects and returns (merchandise that is defective, obsolete or received by mistake), and issues debit memos when appropriate;
    • Supports Company and supplier relations, and alignment;
    • Participates in the cyclical and annual physical inventory preparation and counting;
    • Coordinates with vendors, along with management to track action items and maintain strong relationships;
    • Coordinates vendor meetings, in collaboration with Business Centre Manager‍.
    • Other projects and duties as required

    Logistics

    • Organize and coordinate shipment paperwork for international shipments with broker for timely clearance.
    • Book pick ups for local and cross border shipments.
    • Obtain quotes and arrange shipments with freight forwarders
    • Monitor shipments until final delivery
    • Review freight invoices
    • Resolve claims for damaged shipments
    • All other assigned tasks.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum 3 years work experience in a similar role
    • Post-secondary diploma or degree with a concentration in a supply chain related field
    • Enjoys negotiation and conflict resolution
    • Knowledge of Incoterms
    • Experience with transportation of dangerous goods regulations and working with and/or implementing an ERP system
    • Detail-oriented, attentive customer service, team player, good organizational skills and able to work with minimum supervision;
    • Good written and verbal communication skills; good knowledge of English written and spoken
    • Energetic and positive professional attitude, excellent stress management;
    • Ability to work in a computerized environment;
    • Experience within the high-tech manufacturing industry is an asset
    • Product knowledge, an asset.
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
    • Strong ability and desire to develop and grow skills.
