We are currently seeking an UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT for our Toronto office. The candidate will support the Underwriters in their day to day tasks. We are looking for someone that would be embedded in our values: building trust, pushing boundaries, innovating and keeping things simple.
Your mission in a few words:
- Assist the underwriter with the endorsements, renewals and new business
- Communicate with brokers in writing, by telephone or email
- Issue policies and bill accounts
- Performs clerical/administrative duties as assigned
- Maintain positive broker relationships
Qualifications & personality we are looking for:
- 1-2 years’ experience as an Underwriting Assistant, preferably in the Property & Casualty sector
- Strong organizational skills
- Professional, positive and courteous in all interactions, with customers and co-workers
- Performs well in a busy operation and remains calm under pressure
- Team player adaptable to a changing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of PolicyWorks would be an asset
- Personable and energetic
