The Complex Risk Unit (CRU) provides our clients with an integrated structure to address all their Global risk management advisory and consultative needs. We do this by leveraging HUB Canada’s best technical experts, and industry specialists. Our clients benefit from customized advice, maintain a relationship with one senior contact, and make educated decisions regarding risk retention and transfer using state-of-the-art technical solutions and traditional insurance products.
About The Role
We’re looking for a strong Commercial Account Associate to support our Property & Casualty (P&C) Commercial Lines Insurance accounts in Toronto. This role involves working closely with the Vice President, Complex Risks Unit and requires someone who is responsive, strong time management skills and good knowledge of property and casualty experience. This is an ideal role for someone with strong technical and systems experience.
What You’ll Do
- Day-to-day activities for clients and prospects including:
- File management, preparation and review of client renewal packages (certificates, summaries, etc.)
- Policy reviews against binders/quotes to ensure accuracy
- Timely issuance of submissions, binders, summaries, policies etc.
- Effective communication with clients and third parties; i.e., answering client inquiries and working actively with underwriters for terms
- Effective management of abeyance system
- Minimizing Daily Sales Outstanding (DSO) to HUB standards
- Preparing for and participating in client meetings
What You’ll Need for Success
- Valid RIBO license Required
- Typically, 2+ years of commercial insurance experience
- Experience in market negotiations on commercial policies is an asset
- Strong aptitude to learn new risks along with a desire to keep up to date with emerging trends
- Results-oriented and passionate, with a strong sense of accountability and client management skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills
- A Solid team player who also possesses independence of thought
- Proactive client-focused approach with effective negotiation and follow-up skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel (formulas and pivot tables), PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience with Applied EPIC or similar insurance broker management systems
