Job description: The Client:
The client is a leading Mutual Insurance Company seeking a Commercial Auto Underwriter II to join their team in Waterloo, Ontario.
What you will achieve in this role:
- Underwriter and service IRCA and Fleet rated commercial/farm auto accounts.
- Manage Commercial/Farm auto risk control procedures and objective.
- Provide management with product and service initiatives being implemented by our competitors.
- Use front line knowledge of the marketplace to assist management in the development of products, pricing and services that support our corporate market positioning strategies.
- Influence the implementation of Commercial/Farm auto, Fleet and Garage programs.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the team.
- Maintain accountability for the selection and rating of Fleet and Garage Auto Insurance transactions such as new business, endorsements, and cancellations.
- Work with management and other departments to effectively implement defined strategies for broker/agent development. Attend broker events and corporate functions as required.
What you must bring to this role:
- 3+ years of Auto Underwriting experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Post secondary education or University degree in business & partial completion of CIP or working towards it, is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills
